Started
Adding a pet

This is the most important piece. On the app’s home screen, select the + in the upper right corner. Here you can upload a photo of your pet and add basic information and identifying characteristics. The following fields are required: pet’s name, birth date and adopted date. Save your record when done. You can edit most settings afterwards on the pet’s page by selecting Edit in the top right corner and then selecting Update to save new information. Add as many pets as you’d like. 

Note: In the current version, you cannot change the breeder. This will be fixed in an upcoming version.

How do I add a microchip?

Microchips are important! Over 30% of dogs are lost at least once so this can be a life saver. You can get a microchip and have your pet tagged at your regular vet.

In the app, select your pet. Select the orange menu button on the right.  Select Registrations. Select MicroChip Registration from the picker on the bottom. Hit Select. Enter the microchip number from your provider. (This is typically a barcoded fact sheet. Look for the number under the barcode.)

PetTracks performs a lookup based on the microchip number to determine the provider, and prefills the fields if it finds one. Update the fields as necessary from your fact sheet.

Select Yes to annual reminder.  PetTracks will send you a reminder once a year to check you contact information with the registrar you used to register your pet. Save your record.

Note: You can also enter municipal and club registrations in the Registrations screen.

Activities
I am at the vet. How do I record the information?

In the app, select your pet. Select your pet’s activity history on the bottom of the screen.  Select the orange menu button.  Select the button marked Vet. You can select an existing vet from your contacts or add a new one. Add any notes about your visit.  You can also add your pet’s weight and height here.  If you want to add an attachment, like a copy of the vet’s bill, select Click to add attachment.  Save your record.

How do I record my pet's weight and/or height?

In the app, select your pet.  Select your pet’s activity history on the bottom of the screen.  Select the orange menu button. Select the button marked Weight.  Enter your pet’s weight and height.  Save your record.  Note: you can also enter your pet’s weight and height in the Vet screen (see question above).

Record medication you are giving your pet.

In the app, select your pet.  Select your pet’s activity history on the bottom of the screen.  Select the orange menu button. Select the button marked Medication.  Enter the medication name, type and dosage.  You can also schedule a daily, weekly or monthly reminder here. Save your record.

Can I record my dog walks?

At this time, you can’t record dog walks.  This may be added in upcoming versions. Let us know if this is a feature you’d like to see. Email us at PetTracks@advsolutionpros.com.

Contacts
Where did the contacts I see come from?

These are the contacts you have already added to the app.  To add additional contacts, on the app’s home screen, select Contacts on the bottom of the screen.  To add a new contact, select the + sign in the top right corner.  Add all the relevant contact information here, including phone number, email and web address. This will be helpful if you want to reach your contacts by phone or email through the app, or access their website.

Are my contacts also available in my regular contacts?

No. At this time, contacts must be entered directly into PetTracks and are only available in the PetTracks app.

How do I send an email to a contact or call a contact?

To send an email: On the app’s home screen, select Contacts on the bottom of the screen.  Select the appropriate contact.  Select Email. Email screen will appear.  Fill in email message and send.  Note: Email address will only appear if it has been entered into the contact information screen.  To add an email address to an existing contact, select Edit in the top right corner. Add missing email address.  Select Update in the top right corner.

To call a contact:  On the app’s home screen, select Contacts on the bottom of the screen.  Select the appropriate contact.  Select Phone. Select Call in the pop-up screen. To add a phone number to an existing contact, select Edit in the top right corner.  Add missing phone number.  Select Update in the top right corner.

How do I go to a contact's website?

On the app’s home screen, select Contacts on the bottom of  the screen.  Select the appropriate contact.  Select the contact’s web address. Website will appear on screen.  Note: Web address will only appear if it has been entered into the contact information screen.  To enter web address to an existing contact, select Edit in the top right corner. Add missing web address. Select Update in the top right corner.
